Compliance

Check you comply with regulations

All businesses

Every business has a duty of care to dispose of waste responsibly, but you may have additional obligations or packaging, if you transport waste on behalf of customers or sell electronic or electrical devices or batteries.

Turnover above £36M

Companies above the turnover threshold are obliged to publish on their home page a link to a Modern Slavery Act compliance statement, signed by a senior executive, explaining what they do to avoid labour rights violations in their supply chain.

250 staff or turnover/balance sheet value limits

Companies that exceed the thresholds, or which are part of a group where another UK-based subsidiary exceeds them, are required to conduct an Energy Savings Opportunities audit every 4 years. Phase 2 is currently active, with reports due by 5th December 2019.

250 staff or turnover/balance sheet value limits

Companies that exceed the thresholds are required to report on their energy use and carbon emissions as part of their annual Directors' Report.

250 staff

Companies with more than 250 employees are required to both report on  their website regarding the gap in pay between male and female staff and also submit data to a government website.
